Kathy J. Farley, D.D.S., P.A.
A graduate of Virginia Tech and the Medical School of Virginia School of Dentistry, Dr. Farley completed a residency in Advanced General Dentistry at the University of Maryland. Additionally, her post-graduate education includes extensive training in complex restorative procedures restoring severely worn and broken teeth, treatment and diagnosis of TMJ pain and dysfunction, occlusal (bite) problems and cosmetics. She has completed over 500 hours of extensive post-graduate training with some of the most respected dentists and dental specialists in the field, such as Dr. Peter Dawson, who is considered to be one of the most influential clinicians and teachers in the history of dentistry and founder of the Dawson Center for the Advancement of Dentistry, Dr. Mark Piper, a pioneer in the diagnosis and treatment of TMJ, The Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, where she completed coursework in progressive cosmetic techniques and neuromuscular dentistry, and The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, just to name a few.
Dr. Farley was voted one of Annapolis’ top dentists in 2006 in a poll surveying more than 200 Maryland dentists. She has also been recognized in the community for the charity work she and her office provides on their Annual Children’s Dental Day, on which the office provides dental care for children who otherwise would not be able to afford care. Dr. Farley also volunteers her time at the Anne Arundel Medical Center’s free dental clinic at the Stanton Center in Annapolis.
She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Maryland State Dental Association, the Anne Arundel County Dental Society, and a sustaining member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Heather P. Ruland, D.D.S.
Dr. Ruland is a cum laude graduate of Bucknell University and a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. While attending dental school, she completed extra training in periodontal surgical procedures.
She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Maryland State Dental Association, and the Anne Arundel County of Dental Societies.

Kathryn Ehmann, D.D.S.

Dr. Ehmann is a graduate of Cornell University and in a somewhat non-traditional path, spent 2 years in the Peace Corps in Senegal (West Africa) before graduating magna cum laude from the University at Buffalo Dental School in upstate New York. She then spent 3 years in the Navy completing a hospital based general practice residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD, then a year on the USS Enterprise, and finally a year at the Naval Branch Dental Clinic in Norfolk, VA. Although appreciating her military service, Dr. Ehmann is glad to be reunited with her family and excited to join Dr. Farley’s practice.

Amanda, Practice Coordinator
In her role as our marketing and patient care coordinator, Amanda helps to implement our practice’s marketing strategy, including internal and external promotions. Amanda is a cum laude graduate of Loyola College in Maryland, where she has received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and Marketing. She has worked for the practice since 2002.
Amanda enjoys dancing, singing and acting in the Annapolis/Baltimore area and teaching ballroom dancing at the U.S. Naval Academy.

Alicia
Alicia joined our team as a part time patient care coordinator in May 2008. When not in the office, Alicia teaches Yoga and is also a Thai Yoga Massage practitioner. She is registered with the Yoga Alliance at the 500 hour level, certified by the Silver Lotus Institute and in the Lotus Palm Method of Thai Yoga Massage.
In her free time, Alicia enjoys performing in local community theatre productions, reading, singing, dancing and continues to further her own Yoga training as well as helping to train future Yoga instructors.

Lynn, Registered Dental Hygienist
Lynn is a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH). She is our oral health educator, recognizing and treating patients’ periodontal disease. She provides non-surgical treatment for periodontal disease at the earliest stage in order to control periodontal infections.
Lynn earned her associate degree in dental hygiene from Delaware Technical and Community College in 1995, and started working for the practice in 1998. She has completed the Evolutionary Hygiene Program at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. Other courses include: Perioscopy with Dr. David A. Mugford (2004); Drugs in Dentistry, Including Herbals and Natural Products (2003); and Linking Oral and Systemic Disease (2005) and Oral Pathology (2007) . Lynn also attends monthly study club meetings to keep up-to-date on the latest advances in dental hygiene.
In her free time, Lynn enjoys travel, music, art, reading, baking and spending time with her husband and daughters Emily and Allison.

Angela, Certified Dental Assistant
Angela, a Certified Dental Assistant, has assisted Dr. Farley with dental procedures since 1998, specializing in cosmetic and full-mouth reconstruction.
Angela is a licensed dental radiologist and an expanded functions Certified Dental Assistant licensed through the University of Maryland Board. She has trained at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, and has taken lab tech training at Great Lakes Laboratory in Buffalo, NY. She’s also taken advanced training at the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Study and at the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Angela is CPR certified.
In her free time, Angela enjoys boating on the Chesapeake Bay with family, working out at the gym, and traveling.

Katheryn, Certified Dental Assistant
Kathryn is a qualified dental assistant and licensed radiology digital technician who joined our team in the summer of 2008. A graduate of Annapolis Area Christian School, Kathryn has been in the field of dentistry for over three years as a scheduling coordinator and dental assistant. She is First Aid and CPR certified.
In her free time, Kathryn loves to watch her niece and nephew, 4-wheel, snowboard and dance.
